John Lydon, Detroit loves you!
Yours truly went to the Crofoot in Pontiac, MI last night to see an awesome show by Public Image Limited. After ingesting copious amounts of lager and vicodin, we arrived at the venue and proceeded to celebrate the last week of legal tobacco use in bars by chain smoking and drinking more beer. The set list was perfect, as the band opened with ” This is not a Love Song “, and then going into ” Poptones ” from ” Second Edition ” ( or ” Metal Box ” for you outside of the U.S. ), and continued by playing everything I wanted to hear. Highlights : ” Religion “, when John told the sound guy to turn the bass louder and louder until it was shaking everyone’s private areas, ” Rise “, and my two favorite songs of the evening, ” Disappointed ” from the album ” 9 “, and the greatest song Lydon’s ever recorded – ” Open Up “. The whole evening was great, the sound was perfect, and Lydon looked and sounded awesome. After the show, we went to Gusoline Alley in Royal Oak, had more drinks, and ended up having sausage gravy-covered omelettes. Glorious.
P.S. THE NEW ISSUE IN STORES TOMORROW!!!! Brand new sale and more news tomorrow morning….stay tuned.
